● Project Background:
Toxicological tests are experiments in which experimental animals are exposed to different routes and different periods of time to detect various toxic end points. To clarify the toxicity and potential hazards of a chemical through animal experiments and observations on animals, the purpose is to determine the level of harmless effect, type of toxicity, target organs, and dose-response relationship to provide important information for safety evaluation or risk evaluation. Toxicological testing plays an important role in ensuring the safety of food, health food, cosmetics, disinfection products, drugs, medical devices and chemical products.
The animal laboratory of Pony Testing Group obtained 6 licenses for the use of experimental animals in 2018. The whole facility consists of three parts, including 800 square meters of SPF level barrier animal feeding facilities, 200 square meters of ordinary level animal feeding facilities, and 200 square meters of affiliated laboratories. The SPF barrier facilities are mainly used for the breeding of SPF rats and mice, and the ordinary facilities are mainly used for the breeding of ordinary rabbits and guinea pigs. The affiliated laboratories included reagent room, physiological and biochemical test laboratory, pathology laboratory, Ames laboratory, cell laboratory and archive room, which were equipped with automatic biochemical analyzer, blood cell counter, hemagglutination analyzer, urine analyzer, blood glucose analyzer, microplate reader, biological safety cabinet, automatic dehydrator, automatic dyeing machine, embedding machine and microtome.
